America, Take Note

America, Take Note
If political history is anything, it is a reference to what Presidents have done throughout the existence of this country. We are a democracy, and in a democracy, guidelines structured in the Constitution are the methods by which we solve issues confronting the country.
Barack Obama has degrees in Constitutional Law; he was a professor; he models his presidency after Abraham Lincoln, and if you take a moment to reflect on it, there is no manner in which anyone can 'mandate' the prohibition of racism and prejudice! No Executive Order can make people not show or demonstrate racism and prejudice. Racial harmony has to be taught, believed in, and practiced to the point that racism becomes non-existent!
To say that President Barack Obama should use his 'bully pulpit' to encourage change in the prejudicial and racial atmosphere of these United States is akin to telling a rock to move itself out of the way because I need this very spot to plant a tree of Hope, Charity, and Love.
The only way that a positive change of attitudes will occur is through the teaching of diversity, by recognizance of equality of all citizens of these United States as a truth that has to be exercised, and through laws that exact a severe penalty for violating the rights of another human being whom just happens to be the subject of these unforgivable attitudes. Mr. Micheal Dyson is wrong, so totally wrong as to be ludicrous, in his demands for President Obama to be the spearhead of such a notion.
Blacks must not be complacent in obtaining what is a RIGHT. We must, in a united front, demand and vocalize our displeasure with the status quo! The footsteps of Martin Luther King must be followed in a renewed effort to obtain an objective long overdue! We must integrate into the systems of this country and defeat those preconceived beliefs that we are sub-human. We are citizens of these United States and we need to act accordingly! Our motto should be: Live free or die - freedom is worth dying for like never before! If not now, when?
And finally, if WE don't vote, or WE don't VOTE for a candidate that supports our views, regardless of Party affiliation, WE will never effect change! VOTE!
In a democracy, silence is not golden; it is condonance in the face of injustices; it is fear, where the thought of reprisal fosters control – Rodney A. Davis
