Enough is Enough

I'm seventy-six years of age... born and raised in Louisiana and Mississippi! I have, in my lifetime, seen some horrible things done to my race... a naked Black woman lying face down in the Jordan Ave canal in 1963 is indelible! I knew her... knew her family... and I knew who killed her!

I watched the video. I saw the look of indifference on the face of the cop pressing his knee against the carotid artery of George Floyd; the cop stared at the camera of the person videoing the murder of George Floyd, and at that moment, I knew instinctively that this cop had no intentions of taking his knee from the neck of George Floyd! Were I the person recording this murder, I'm absolutely sure I would have died preventing the death of this person I never knew.

After the death-by-cop of Michael Brown, I spoke over Facebook Messenger with Darren Wilson. I told him that I understood his actions were out of anger, but why? I asked Wilson if he felt any remorse. After speaking with him over Messenger, I deleted our conversation. I was more interested in understanding the nature of the beast, than condemning Wilson. Facebook and Wilson's lawyers know that I talked to him.

To the cop standing there allowing the murder of an unarmed handcuffed man, you deserve no mercy on the day you go before God, if there is a God! To be honest, I cannot in good faith say that there is a God anymore!

Like every other Black man, I'm angry! Angry because this murderous act is repeated daily by a race that believes it has a right to murder unarmed Black men; by a profession sworn to protect and serve the public, but known to exercise the kind of unmercifulness I would attribute to Hitler's Gestapo! I'm sick of the notion that murdering me is acceptable, a right some deem a privilege! Let me assure you of one thing, those days are coming to an end! I, like a lot of other Black men, am not going to be silent any longer! I have just as much right to freedom, justice, and equality as any of you.

Stop murdering unarmed Black men!

I'm a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer, a Vietnam veteran, a citizen of the United States, and I will be vocal in every sense of the word! My grands will not have to live in fear!

Police Shootings

This is what occurs when punkass cops are given a gun and a badge! The policeman's reactions in the video show a sudden change from cordiality to instance fear. He asked for Castile's ID, then pulled the trigger seven times, striking Castile five times .

His partner is on the other side viewing the passenger side of the car. He has not drawn his gun, and states that he saw no gun. He is startled by the gunfire and quickly moves to a point of safety. This, alone, is a violation of armed engagement protocol! Rule #1... make sure you have a clear view before firing!

Everything about this incident screams negligent homicide! The officer chooses fear over control of the situation.

1. Order the person in question to put his hands on the dash.

2. Have the other officer assist with extradition from the car and searched for a weapon on his body.

If there is a gun on his body, recovery is achieved. After checking his permit and ascertaining that his permit is in order, the victim should be have been released from custody - fully alive.

Fear for your life is not justification to discharge your weapon after initiating a confrontation, yet Courts have consistently ruled that this one mental state of mind is a legal reason to shoot to kill!

How I would have handled this incident:

No Black legally carrying a firearm should tell a policeman that they have a gun/permit to carry. If the detaining officer doesn't demand to see you hands... do so on your own. When you are asked for ID explain that you are fearful of doing so without the officer's assistance. Insist that the officer remove you from the car and frisk you for a weapon - you have now taken control of the situation.

Now, assured that you are unarmed, direct the officer (hands still on the car) to the pocket where your ID is located. Allow him to review and verify your status.

The fear factor has been eliminated!

I was 46 years old when a nervous PG County policewoman shot to dead my friend after first asking him for his ID. Police are deadly afraid of a Black man. They believe each of us is a crazed animal capable of committing heinous crimes without reason.

You've been warned!

Follow The Forensics; It Never Lies!

It is apparent that America has morphed into a Police State! The patterns of such a demised evident by the increase in frequency of incidents of police brutality coupled with the refusal to prosecute policemen by District Attorneys across the United States!

Crimes against citizens are way too frequent to dismiss the trend! This trend did not start with the death of Trayvon Martin; it did not start with the beating of Rodney King; it started long before the advent of portable cameras! The truth is now being televised by eye-witnesses taking videos of such incidents - "roll the tape" is the new cry from those subjected to police abuse!

New evidence supports claims by eye-witnesses that Michael Brown was falling forward when the 'kill shot' was made by Darren Wilson! Darren Wilson has, before an indictment jury,  perjured himself because the forensics does not agree with his version of what occurred! Two key witnesses maintain that Micheal Brown was facing Officer Wilson with his hands up when he was shot in the face, a shot that sent him forward in a fall; the final 'kill shot' entered the top of his head centered to the rear of his skull.

Most critical to pathologist is the direction of the 'kill shot'! That bullet entered rear of center in the top of his head and traveled at a downward angle that saw the bullet exit through his lower jaw! There is absolutely no other conclusion that can be drawn from this evidence other than the victim's head was extremely lower than originally thought!

Too add insult to injury, it is evident that the Ferguson Police Department is an active participant in the quest to not show transparency in the investigation of the shooting of Michael Brown. While it is indeed necessary to maintain zero leaks of the evidence to the general public, there is no guarantee that an indictment will occur, if the jury does not see evidence that will lead to an indictment!

Key eye-witnesses that were present, and saw from different angles the shooting, have to this writer's knowledge, not been heard by the indictment jury! Selective presentation of evidence and the instructions to the jury were instrumental in the acquittal of George Zimmerman vs Florida in Trayvon Martin's death!

In a democracy, silence is not golden; it is condonance in the face of injustices; it is fear, where the thought of reprisal fosters control – Rodney A. Davis
